Many businesses need the judgment of an experienced general counsel, but not full-time. As fractional general counsel, I work with companies on an ongoing or as-needed basis, advising leadership on dispute prevention and resolution, litigation risk, investigations, and strategic legal matters. The aim is to identify risks, understand options, and make sound decisions before problems become expensive disputes.

My perspective comes from both sides of the table. Decades of litigation, including trials before judges and juries, hundreds of depositions, appeals, arbitrations, and internal investigations, have shown me how disputes develop, what they cost, and where they could have been avoided. That work spans real property, lending and lender liability, consumer finance and federal statutory claims (including TILA, RESPA, the FDCPA, the TCPA, and civil RICO), contracts, commercial leasing, business torts, tax matters, and financial elder abuse. Litigation also teaches a particular way of thinking. I test decisions the way an adversary would, anticipate how facts will look to a judge or jury, and adjust as circumstances change without losing sight of what the client actually needs.

I have also run a business. After two decades at established California firms, I founded my own practice in 2018 and have since built and managed independent law firms. I understand the decisions a business faces from the inside, and I bring that experience to the work that matters most before a dispute becomes a lawsuit: investigating facts, evaluating risk, developing strategy, and advising decision-makers.
